Obstetric & Gynaecological Sonar

An obstetric and gynaecological sonar refers to a pregnancy ultrasound or a sonogram. An obstetric and gynaecological sonar is an imaging system that uses high frequency sound waves in order to create pictures of a baby inside the mother’s womb.

An obstetric and gynaecological sonar can also monitor the unborn baby’s development, heart rate, and screen for potential problems. Thus making it absolutely vital during pregnancy.

Antenatal Clinic

To ensure that your pregnancy has a positive outcome, it is highly recommended that you seek antenatal care during your pregnancy. With antenatal care, Dr Maracha will check that you and your baby are in good health, give you useful information that would help you have a healthy pregnancy, and answer any questions you may have related to pregnancy and birth.

Circumcisions

Circumcision is the surgical removal of foreskin – the tissue covering the head of the penis.

• A reduced risk of some sexually transmitted diseases in men.
• Protection against penile cancer and a reduced risk of cervical cancer in female sex partners.

Minor Surgical Procedures

Minor surgical procedures refer to any surgical procedure that does not involve the use of anaesthetics or respiratory assistance during the surgical procedure. Minor procedures, such as removing skin tags, can be performed on an ad hoc basis during a normal surgery. Generally, minor surgery falls into two distinct groups: Cutting procedures - such as excision followed by suturing; and Injections - into joints, muscles, varicose veins, and piles.

Cervical Cancer Screening

Cervical cancer can easily be prevented with regular screening tests and follow-ups. With a cervical cancer screening, pre-cancers and cell changes on the cervix can be detected before it becomes cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer screenings are recommended for all women between the ages of 21 and 65 years old, and can be done in our practice.

HIV Tests and Counselling

It is important that couples get tested together at the start of a new relationship, before getting married or when planning to have children, as working together as a couple to fight the risk of HIV is more effecting than working as an individual. Dr Maracha is highly trained and provides HIV counselling and testing services for couples, families and individuals alike.
